Grilles and Bullets Anodizing and Polishing
Castle Cadillac owners often ask us about restoring their front grilles and bullets. The front grille and bullets are made of aluminum and are anodized, which gives the bullets their luster and shine. However, repeated cleaning and washing with strong solutions wears away the shine. Cleaning the bullets this way is only a temporary solution to the shine and will only last a few days as the continuing oxidation returns it to the dull finish. Classic car owners and restoration shops have tried to remedy the problem by spray painting the grilles with a silver paint. This will solve the luster problem; however, it diminishes the appearance of the fine Cadillac workmanship.
